What is an operable wall or folding partition?

Operable walls, also called operable partitions or moveable (movable) walls, are panel systems that stack, fold, or lift to divide or open rooms. They help schools, hotels, churches, conference centers, and recreation facilities reconfigure square footage without permanent construction.

Which operable wall options does LG2 offer?

LG2 supports Modernfold solid folding panels, folding glass partitions, exterior Euro-Wall folding glass, and Modernfold accordion partitions. Each has different acoustics, storage, weather exposure, and operating requirements.

What's the difference between a room divider, a partition wall and an operable wall?

They're mostly different names for the same idea. "Room divider" and "divider wall" are the everyday terms; "operable wall," "operable partition" and "folding partition" are the trade terms. A commercial operable wall is a track-hung system of panels that closes off a room with real sound control, unlike a curtain or freestanding screen. Accordion partitions (sometimes called folding doors) are a lighter, compact-stacking option.

What kind of room divider works for a gym or church?

Gyms usually need a tall, durable wall: Modernfold Acousti-Seal panel walls (electric operation is available, so staff turn a key instead of moving panels). Churches often use Modernfold panel walls for sanctuaries and fellowship halls and SoundMaster accordion partitions, rated up to STC 40, for classrooms.
