Data Center Solutions: Raised Floors, Airflow, Containment & Structural Ceilings

Tate infrastructure for the data hall, from the floor up: data center raised access floors and airflow panels, hot and cold aisle containment, and structural ceilings for cable tray, busway and containment. LG2 sells, supplies and installs each of them.

Looking for raised floors for offices and commercial space? Office raised access floors and underfloor air distribution are covered separately.

Data center raised floors and airflow panels

In a data center the raised floor is part of the cooling system. The underfloor plenum carries supply air to airflow panels in front of the racks, alongside power and data. Panel and understructure choices follow the rack, rolling and point loads; airflow panel choices follow the cooling each rack needs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Tate products are used in a data center?
Tate's data center lines include raised access floor panels and understructure, airflow panels and grates, hot and cold aisle containment and structural ceilings. LG2 sells, supplies and installs all four, individually or planned together for the data hall.
Is a data center raised floor different from an office raised floor?
Yes. Office raised floors focus on cable management, underfloor air distribution and easy reconfiguration under carpet or hard finishes. Data center raised floors are chosen for rack and rolling loads, airflow panel performance and the underfloor plenum, often with heavier ConCore panels on bolted stringer understructure.
How do airflow panels and aisle containment work together?
Airflow panels deliver cold supply air from the raised floor plenum, and containment keeps hot exhaust and cold supply air from mixing so that supply air reaches the rack inlets. A Tate structural ceiling can carry the containment roof, cable trays and busway above.
Can these systems be added to an existing data center?
Many can. Tate's GrateAire, HD GrateAire and DirectAire X2 panels drop into existing stringered access floors without modification, and containment doors and hard partitions can be added around existing rack rows.
