- What is the Euro-Wall Vista Fold?
- Vista Fold™ is Euro-Wall's thermally broken aluminum folding door system. Glass panels hinge together, fold and stack to the side of the opening, so an exterior wall can open fully to a patio, porch, pool or terrace. A thermal barrier in the aluminum frame reduces heat and cold transfer, and the system is offered in impact-rated and non-impact versions.
- How large can Vista Fold panels be?
- On the Thermally Broken line, the maximum panel height is 168" for non-impact units and 144" for impact-rated units, with a maximum panel width of 52". The Impact/Non-Impact line reaches 180" non-impact and 168" impact, also 52" wide, with openings up to 415 sq ft non-impact and 334 sq ft impact. Both lines list a minimum panel size of 20" wide × 32" tall, and a maximum panel weight of 350 lb. Non-impact openings can be any width, with an unlimited number of sequential panels; impact openings go up to 334 sq ft. At the largest widths and heights a panel can exceed 350 lb, so a weight check is done for each design.
- Is Vista Fold available impact-rated?
- Yes. The impact-rated Vista Fold is tested to TAS 201-94 large missile impact, TAS 202-94 wind load and TAS 203-94 cyclic load, plus ASTM E283-04 air infiltration, ASTM E331-00 water infiltration and AAMA 1304-18 forced entry. It uses 1" insulated impact or 9/16" monolithic impact glass, the two glass types approved for HVHZ and Wind Zone 3 use.
- Can Vista Fold swing in or out, bi-part or turn a corner?
- Yes. Every layout is available inswing or outswing. Panels can stack to one side or split to both sides for a bi-parting opening, such as 2L/2R or 3L/3R. Vista Fold is also available in segmented, radius and split height layouts, and as a 90° postless corner that opens both walls with no corner post.
- Is there an ADA or low-profile sill?
- Yes. Along with the standard water-rated sill, Vista Fold offers a thermally broken ADA sill (shown as the ramped sill in the brochure), a lower-profile modified standard sill, and a channel sill for interior applications only. The standard sill is the water-rated choice and is water-rated for outswing only. LG2 helps you weigh exposure, orientation and accessibility when choosing the sill.
- How do you get in and out without opening the whole wall?
- Choose an odd number of panels, for example 3 Left or 3 Left / 2 Right. Odd configurations have an active (primary) panel that carries the exterior handle and can take the multipoint 5-point locking handle. Configurations with an even number of panels on every side are accessible from the interior, with exterior keyed access available on request. Vista Fold Multi-Directional adds double egress by letting panel pairs fold and slide in either direction.
- What glass and finish options are available?
- Glass comes in overall thicknesses of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 9/16" or 1", including tempered, laminated, insulated and impact glass, with Low-E coatings, tints and simulated divided lites. Standard frame finishes are White, Bronze, Black and Clear Anodized, with Kynar® (AAMA 2605) or powder coat, custom and metallic colors, faux woodgrain, and an interior wood clad option in mahogany / sapele, white oak or exotic species.
- What warranty comes with Vista Fold?
- Euro-Wall warrants its products to be free from manufacturing defects for 10 years from the date of purchase. LG2 installs Vista Fold to the manufacturer's installation guide and supports the owner with adjustments, maintenance guidance and part requests.
- Does Euro-Wall publish U-values or other thermal numbers for Vista Fold?
- Euro-Wall describes Vista Fold as thermally broken and tested for thermal requirements, and thermal performance depends heavily on the glass package chosen. Its public product page and brochure do not list a single U-value, so LG2 confirms thermal data for your exact glass and configuration during selection.
- Do you serve my area?
- Yes. LG2 is based in Grand Rapids and works on Euro-Wall exterior folding glass walls for homes, restaurants and hospitality throughout Michigan. Wherever your project is in Michigan, call or send a message and we'll talk it through.
